The life-like Braunschweig Upright (Pro) is the largest single upright piano library in the world. The Braunschweig Upright (Pro) contains 14 velocity layers of one microphone perspective, and 11 layers of another. Totalling over 15GB of data, this upright piano library not only sounds real, it has a versatility not before seen in upright piano sample libraries.

This instrument is a powerful imperfect multi-sample library. The Schimmel Braunschweig 24 bit multisampled upright piano delivers an unusual, dark and extremely dynamic range. This virtual instrument enables composers and producers a-like, to create a stunning and moving, intimate performances for piano passages.

Unlike most piano sample libraries, the sounds of the fingers tapping the ivory keys, the pedal, subtle mechanical sounds, and even occassional seat noise, has been recorded in order to preserve as much of a life-like performance as possible. This is what is referred to as "imperfect".

All sliders and envelopes have been calibrated and timed to behave like a real Quadra and there are lots of great extra features that really bring the Quadra synthesiser into the modern studio environment.

Each section of the Quadra has been sampled chromatically using high quality converters for a true authentic sound. There are seperate effects sections for each synth section and an analogue style sequencer based ARP's 1970's sequencer is included.

LEGATO ENSEMBLES
An industry-first: real legato transitions for orchestrated sets of instruments. Various differently arranged ensembles were captured performing legato intervals, playing in unison or octaves, and were meticulously edited and scripted. A great example is the noble sounding Horns Violins Violas set, which offers real legato performance of French horns, violins and violas playing in unison. No layering was used whatsoever. The legatos, transitions and orchestrations you hear are all real. Each of the sets has been recorded in a specific range and dynamic, dictated by the orchestration and the musical context of the orchestration. Apart from the LEGATO ENSEMBLES we also included a number of legato
solo instruments.

BRAND-NEW INTERFACE
SYMPHOBIA 2 is powered by Kontakt 4.1 and comes with a brand-new interface. In the centre are the instrument and articulation displays. The left half of the interface contains all the switchable options such as Master EQ, release trails and microphone mode. The right half of the interface has all the controllable options such as instant ADSR, reverb and DSP effects.

SWITCHABLE MIC MODE
Like the original SYMPHOBIA, SYMPHOBIA 2 was recorded in a beautiful concert hall environment and has been edited and programmed in two microphone sets: close and stage. Each program now contains both microphone sets and has a convenient switch button to choose which mic set you wish to use. Both mic sets have been carefully mixed to instantly fall into place in your mix. When switching mics, the samples for the unused mic will be purged from RAM.

The LEGATO ENSEMBLES opened up exciting new possibilities for creating MULTIS. We created MULTIS that allow you to play two, even three legato instruments simultaneously as well as various combinations of polyphonic articulations and a legato instrument. Frendo is a custom-built Tonehammer instrument. We created this monster by stringing bailing wire around and through through steel plates and bolts, over galvanize steel piping and across wood planks. It was meant to suffer. You can help it by mistreating it in horrible ways with screwdrivers, bows, drum sticks, mallets and fingers. The instrument holds a vast amount of otherworldly sounds, which is ideal for composers looking for new disturbing, horror-like textures for their scores. Frendo is partially a mallet instrument, recorded with wooden and rubber mallets, but is also a more traditional string instrument, since we recorded finger plucks and bows. It’s the sound of Satan’s cello, weeping softly for your burning soul.

The Unique synthesizer specializes in state-of-the-art vowel sounds and mighty, mighty analog keyboard sounds. With Unique, it takes just a rightclick on a control and complex parameter rides with internal and external controllers become a joyride. And that’s what they should be, after all.

The soul of Unique: Oscillators
The source of the Unique’s truly unique sounds are its direct and powerful sounding oscillators. The Triple Saw and the Triple FM algorithms cover such a wide range of sounds, we spent extra hours to make all this available by using just a few controls. The noise oscillator with built-in filter can be used in a tonal mode, the right choice for the vowel filter.

The passion of Unique: Filters and their modulators
The actual intention behind this project also became its outstanding feature: the Vowel Filter mode. The oscillator sound can be transformed to vowel formants in many different ways. The juicy filters can also be used in classic mode, so Unique is fitted for standard situations as well. Each of the five filters (with internal analog signal processing) again has five individual modulators for creating oustanding Vowel and Filter movements. The modulators can be triggered in many different ways: for example with the lowest note played, the first note played or even with the sequencer clock or the arpeggiator. Yet another stunning Unique feature: The internal LFO´s have fade algorithms for rate and intensity.

The sex of Unique: Controllers and Effects
The internal controllers section contains a recordable XY field and is very easy to manage with just a rightclick on any control. Feedbacks go from ‚the Controllers section rocks!’ to ‚the Controllers section just blows me away!’ The effects section contains two chained multi effects, each of them with six effect algorithms. So once you’ve built your sound, there’s tons of sound polish.
